HISTORY OF ROYAL AMBERLEY LODGE No 25

A proud member of the Grand Lodge of Queensland. GLE.

Formed on the 26th January 1972. At the Avon Hall close to Amberley Air force Base.

Founders O.D.Powys KOM, PGP.- D. Mackey. KOM.- A J Stoddard. CP. & C.R.Hayward ROH

Nearly 200 Brothers attended on the opening day (record still stands).

First Raising; Bro, T.L.Stokes. (So he could be elected to the Royal Chair)

First Worthy Primo. T.L.Stokes CP.

29 regalia visit to other Lodges in the first two years.

At least four Grand Lodge Officers each year for 28 years.

Has had three Grand Primos in GLQ-GLE. And Two in Victoria.

One served as Grand Primo four times and one three times for GLQ. In victoria one served twice. and another once

Assets. Coach (20 seater) old furniture (W.P. & Marshal Daiss, with chairs all made in the mid 40's) a large amount of Investments, and Lodge equipment plus a good body of members.

Runs its own Bingo club in the town of Ipswich which attracts between 60. To a 100 people each Friday and publishes its own news letter "the Voice of Amberley" monthly.

Moved to it Present address in 1999 after 27 years at the Avon hall.

This Lodge along with Inala. No.116 & L.H.Ford No 9, has the reputation to support local Lodges, helping them to survive.

The Lodge also has representation on the Grand Executive Committee which it has for many years. This is the governing body that gives recommendations and advice to Grand Lodge of Queensland ,
