Some of the many Lodge and Province Sashes on view

A visitor inspecting some of the exhibits

A message from the curator:

'The name is Bro. Stan Stirman ROH, and I have had the pleasure of taking over from the first curator, the one and only Bro. Bill Pilkington ROH (commonly known as 'Pilky') Grand Primo 1972, who completed the awesome task of setting the Museum up. As you may or may not know Bro Bill retired at the G.L. Meeting in December 1998, and I was fortunate to be elected to the post in July of 1999, a position I have enjoyed ever since.
During my short time here I have found among the artefacts a number of papers and manuscripts, some referring to our Order from the early days of the 1880's, which I have committed to disc to preserve them for the future. These are gradually being published in booklet form under the title of "The Museum Collection". Numbers 1 to 5 are already in print (although at the moment numbers 1 and 2 are being reprinted as they went like hot cakes). If anyone is interested you can contact RAOB GLE Headquarters at Grove House, Harrogate.
At present on display are some 4000 items ranging from old Jewels dating back to the 1880's, Grand Primo's Regalia (the oldest belonging to Bro T. Johnson ROH GP 1901), old minutes, Sashes and other things to numerous to mention. As you will have seen I have included a few photographs on the page, and I hope to include more in the future.

For anyone interested, the Museum is open most Thursdays or by special arrangement. Many thanks for taking the trouble to read this,
Yours fraternally,
Bro. Stan Stirman ROH
Museum Curator
